Located in a rural setting but very close to Cartaxo, the “Casal das Aveleiras” house is 5 minutes from several supermarkets (Intermarché, Lidl, Pingo Doce, Continente) and all the city’s services.

Also very close by are several quality regional restaurants, such as Taberna do Alfaiate, O Taxo, A Taberna do Quinzena and our favorite A Cernelha, just a stone’s throw from our door.

A little further away, about 15 minutes, is Valada do Ribatejo, the starting point for boat trips on the Tagus River offered by various operators, including our favorite, Rio-a-Dentro.

Wine is central to the whole of Ribatejo, and there are several producers in the area who offer visits and tastings, such as Vinhos Franco, in Pontével, or Quinta do Sampayo, in Vale da Pinta, where you can also go horse riding.
